We restore healthy, attractive smiles with dental bridges

Drs. Chase Yerger and Diana Stewart get individuals from Miles City, Colstrip, Forsyth, Jordan, Circle, Wolf Point, Terry, and Baker, Montana, smiling again. Nothing quite mars the appearance of a smile like tooth loss. Gaps, where teeth used to be, can naturally make people embarrassed. They may “hide” their smile. Tooth loss also leads to a loss of self-confidence and self-pride. Of course, there are also health effects associated with tooth loss, especially as teeth tend to drift toward empty spaces.

Dental bridges at Yerger Family Dental are an excellent opportunity to regain your confident, proud, and healthy smile. They also fill gaps in the smile efficiently and in a cost-effective way. We are also happy to discuss modern alternatives to conventional bridges, which are a great value and long-term solution.

3D Dental Bridges

Bridges are a time-tested form of tooth replacement. Candidates for bridges have at least some healthy, remaining teeth. If you have more extensive needs for tooth replacement, Drs. Chase Yerger and Diana Stewart can discuss your many options for dentures at our Miles City practice.

Bridges work like this: At least one replacement tooth (pontic) is fused to two crowns. The crowns are then secured to the teeth on either side of the missing tooth. These neighboring teeth are called abutments. Within bridges, abutments are used to anchor or stabilize the replacement tooth (or teeth) – the pontic(s). Abutment teeth must be reduced in size. So the crowns will fit on top of them properly.

Once the crowns are cemented to the anchor teeth, the pontic will “bridge” the gap and fill the empty space. With appropriate care, patients can enjoy their new teeth for many years. We can explain how to remove food particles, plaque, and bacteria from under the bridge. This may involve using floss threaders or interdental brushes. It’s also essential to maintain regular cleanings and exams at our office. We can remove any substances that promote decay and disease, which may be missed with “standard” brushes.

Alternatives

During your consultation, Drs. Chase Yerger and Diana Stewart may discuss dental implants. Each implant functions like an artificial tooth root. These small cylindrical-shaped posts are strategically positioned in the jawbone. They are made from biocompatible materials like titanium. So, they integrate or join naturally to the surrounding bone. These implants may be used to stabilize and support a single tooth (crown) or a bridge or partial denture for those who are missing more than one tooth. As few as four implants may be used to support an upper or lower denture according to how each implant is placed.

There is no time like now to fill in your smile and feel better about your smile. Schedule your visit at our Miles City, MT office today. Call Yerger Family Dental at (406) 233-1241.

Many Happy Faces

A bridge is a non-surgical way to replace one or many teeth. A bridge uses the adjacent teeth as anchors to support the missing tooth or teeth. With today’s dental advancements, a bridge can be fabricated in a fairly short period of time, using a metal or nonmetal foundation. Don’t let that missing tooth affect the way you speak, eat, and smile. Bridges yield immediate results that last a lifetime. Ask your dentist what type of bridge may be right for you.
